First Communion scheduled for Friday, 21st August

Please see the letter below from the Parish Office regarding a new date for the First Communion that was due to take place last April. Please note the scheduled date is Friday, 21st August. Ms. Carr’s Class will make their First Communion at 10am and Ms. Hanlon’s will make theirs at 12 noon.

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Fr. Joe & myself had a meeting to plan for the Communion Class of 2020 and see how we can organise the Communions prior to the upcoming school openings planned for the end of August.

As you know there are severe restrictions in place on people gatherings and this has obviously restricted the number of people and children that can be accommodated at any one time in the church. We have developed a timetable to accommodate all communion classes over a 3 day period, please see the timetable below.

All of the First Holy Communion Masses will take place in St. Patricks church

It is important to note that the timetable fully depends on the lifting of the restrictions that are in place today, where these limit the number of people in the Church to a maximum of 50 people. We are hoping that these restrictions will be eased sometime before the first gathering on the 21st. August.

Timetable (see below)

Friday 21st. August

Scoil Brid (Straffan) Ms Carr at 10:00am

Ms Hanlon at 12:00pm

Should the Communions take place the following guidelines will be in place

There will be only 3 people per communion party, the child & parents / guardians
Parish-Policy as designed by our “Opening-up Committee” asks all of us to wear masks in the church
